Stop / HALT

Hungry: Full, just ate mainly thirsty
Angry: Angry that I didn't get help sooner but more regret.
Lonely: Yes I feel alone, I have those who love me, but I feel lonely dealing with this. Nobody else I know in person is dealing with this disorder.
Tired: Emotionally feeling drained, and depressed.

Determine what the problem is
Lonlieness:
I feel empty right now.
Come up with THREE possible courses of action
I feel alone in having this diagnosis, I felt more cushioned when I thought I had the same illness dealing with brain chemcials as my Fiance.

Three possible Solutions:

1. Read more about Borderline Personality Disorder and how it is treated.
2. Write in a journal how I have love and support, that it is okay to have this disorder. I am not a bad person because I have this disorder.
3. Talk to my Fiance about my feelings, because that always helps.

Figure out which one is best for now
Talking to my Fiance is one that is best for me.

DO IT!

Eternal, did this exercise help you at all? Did it feel awkward or was it fairly easy?

I find it actually helps me do the five steps when it comes to evaluating my emotions. The part I am going to have trouble with is doing them in my head when somebody angers me.

Eternal, rest assured that everyone struggles with that part of things! What I've found helps the most is to do them as frequently as possible even if only in hindsight - after things have already "gone down" so that you can build the habit of going through your options. The more often you work on exploring the options (what could I do, what could I have done), the easier it becomes to automatically use them.

Keep up the great work! :thumbsup
