I'm really excited today.

As of today at 8:00AM, I have been one week SI free!!!

It has been tough going this week. I had to make a few crisis calls, and I've had a lot of tears and episodes curled up on the floor, but I have made it through one week, and that's all that matters right now. A few weeks ago, I was ready to die, and now I have gone the whole week without hurting myself at all!!! This proves that I CAN do this, I CAN master this disorder, I CAN stop mutilating myself and harming myself!

Congrats, MB! Do you think that posting here about it has helped you to stop doing it? Given you alternative coping techniques?? :)

That is absolutely awesome!! It is a struggle, I know! I've taped a note on my razors this week that says "Now, is this REALLY a more productive choice?"...we'll see how I react next time I reach for them. Thankfully I haven't had any urges to lately because I've been so consumed with healing from a recent operation. So perhaps distraction is a good tool!

Good job!! It can be so hard to find a new way, learn new skills- but you are doing it, and making progress!
