I've been handling my anger a lot better lately and really focusing on communicating better and letting things go.

The other night, my partner and I had an argument. I almost resorted to that old tape/ the black and white thinking and the "all or nothing" approach. I am so proud of myself because I stopped myself before the tantrum and instead diffused the situation.

I put HALT into action and ended up snuggling with my partner instead of sleeping on the couch. *happy dance*

In other news, I started DBT yesterday - and thanks to this forum, I've been told I will only need about 6 sessions. She said we could just consolidate on what I've learned. The great thing is, I don't even mind how many sessions I need. I'm fully committed to my recovery. Thanks to you all for encouraging my wise mind. The tools on here, as the people, are so invaluable to my recovery process.

Big hugs and have a wonderful weekend. x

Wow, that's a major victory. Great job. :)

And I'm happy to hear that you've started DBT! Let me know how it goes. I've thought about trying it too.

Jaded|Angel,

That's wonderful! Perhaps you should drop the "Jaded" part of your name.
