Hi. I just wanted to update you-all. I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but things are going much better for me this week. My H was away for a few days and I did very well. I didn't freak out or anything. I kept busy and even though I missed him, I didn't get weird or anything.

I have been trying to be Mindful about how I react to things. I'm trying not to act in Emotion Mind so much. On Saturday I was in a position where I could have gotten into an argument with someone. Instead, I kept my mouth shut and didn't say anything. This made me feel good - to know that I could control myself and not say or do things inappropriately.

I've also been trying to be Mindful about my interactions with my H. This morning I got up early and made him home-made blueberry muffins to take to work! I am working to not get into arguments with him over silly little things. To think before I speak/act.

Basically, I'm trying to stay on an even keel. Not get super-sensitive or super-reactive. It takes a lot of conscious work on my part, but after my discussion with my T last week, I feel I'm better able to see what my pitfalls are.

Thank you for all your support!!!!

P.S. - I'm sleeping better now too. I went off all of my sleep meds. I see my Sleep Doctor tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see what he has to say.

This is all great news! Staying mindful, not getting into arguments over little things--that's easier said than done! You should feel proud of yourself.

Yeah, it does seem strange that you do better WITHOUT the sleep medications. Maybe you were on too many.

It's weird Wondering. It's like my head is totally clear right now. None of the "dysfunctional" thoughts are in there at all. I feel light-headed and "normal" right now! It's wonderful!!!! I hope I can keep this up!

Bordergirl,

I just came back to the board and saw your post.

Good for you for staying out of Emotion Mind! I know it must have been rough considering your H was gone for a few days.

I'm proud of you!

Aimee

Thanks Effortlessly. I am still doing okay. A bit tired. I have to be careful to get the proper sleep, otherwise I can slip up. I think I've been overdoing things lately, so I'm feeling a bit worn out. I have to slow down.
