I thought this was a support forum for survivors of parents/others with BPD. Whoops!

My mom (very likely) had BPD, but was never diagnosed. Same with her own mom. I've got a lot of stuff I'm working through because of this, and I think I got the wrong place! Sorry!

You're welcome here if you want to work on things alongside us, but to be honest, it often makes both sides a little uncomfortable, especially if the survivor (we call them "non's") expresses a lot of anger. It's not that we're in denial that people with BPD can cause chaos and pain in relationships, but at non boards, the condemnation of the particular friend/family member in a non's life can be extremely vicious. We don't find that helpful as we try to sort out our problems, learn to manage our feelings and thoughts, and develop the means to behave and interact in a healthier way. So if you want to work on you, as opposed to venting about the people in your life who have BPD, then we might be able to co-exist.
