I am 59. I suffer from BPD. I am also a situational narcissist. I am in therapy. I read a lot. In therapy I have learned what triggers my BPD, mostly rejection, being ignored, being embarrassed, being criticized and having to wait in line. I grew up in an alcoholic home. I had to go into the hospital when I was 4 and my mother said when I came home I was never the same. I am here to learn.

Hi Rainbow. I'm almost your age - I'm 57. I was diagnosed about 3 years ago when I was 54. It came as a shock to me and I was in denial for quite a few months. But now I accept the diagnosis and have read a lot and am in therapy and come here on BPDR. So I'd say things are better. I hope you keep coming back.
