I also notice now with the new board that a lot of times smilies are broken links in threads, such as the smilie that Trinity put in her second post in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=9207&p=87548#p87548

I have smilies enabled, so I wondered why so many of them appear as broken links. Thanks.

They seem to be working now. In the first few days, they were coming up like that one smilie looks in that post. I haven't seen it happen recently.

That was also an issue with the conversion process. The only way to "fix" it is to have an admin manually enter each post as if they were going to edit it and then just resubmit it. Since that's not likely to happen given the amount of posts with smilies around here from prior to the conversion, I think we're just going to have to live with a few broken smilies in some of the older posts.
