So I get all the meanings of the icons except one. When the icon next to a thread is white but jiggling about, rotating from side to side, what does that mean? (no black dot).

Scroll down to the bottom on the index page within a forum (the page with those graphics) and it explains them all. Well, except for the dot on threads you posted in. But, otherwise it explains them all.
