Anybody have a particularly difficult time at holidays? I have a wonderful adoptive family in my BF's family. They are wonderful people, and they have always included me in all the many traditional family gatherings like Thanksgiving and Xmas. BUT, the holidays just make me cry at the drop of a hat....can't always control it. I really miss my parents at these times of the years.

I'm sorry about your parents. That must be one of the most traumatic occurrences in a lifetime... I'm sorry it happened to you so soon. :(

The holidays are stressful in general, too. Giving and receiving gifts can be such a source of stress.

I had a cousin who committed suicide around the holidays... it took years for me to really be able to enjoy myself again. He was an identical twin, so it was so hard to see his brother without stirring up emotions and memories.
