So... I have noticed with my ex-wife, that she lies to me a lot... she always has. She does this to avoid hurting me or triggering me. The problem is when I discover the lie, which almost always happens, I'm not only hurt by what was done... but I'm also hurt by the fact that she couldn't trust me enough to tell me, I'm hurt that I scare her to the point where she feels she can't trust me with the truth, and I'm constantly wondering if she's lying to me.

I have tried to talk to her about lying to me... asking her not to do it anymore... but I still see her doing it all the time. I understand why she's doing it... but it's not a healthy way for either of us to get along. Any suggestions on how to deal with this situation?

Hi KuroShinsei,

I am not a therapist, but it sounds like your ex may have some serious issues of her own to resolve.
Is she in counseling?
Have you shared this issue with your therapist?

I certainly do not know enough about your relationship with her, but you may want to let some time pass before your next encounter with her so you can get some perspective.

Blessings to you on your journey,
thesea

Ya this is really old, my ex and I don't speak anymore. I don't want to say I'm completely over her, but I at least realize how toxic our relationship was, and how I had been putting her on a pedestal. Thanks for answering thesea, and yes she has problems, no she has never been to see a therapist.
