This is a pretty big day for me -- my fifth "birthday" in 12-step recovery. On a Thursday evening the first week of March five years ago I walked into my first meeting.

My recovery hasn't been a straight line and heaven knows I've had bad days and good days. But overall I am free of the slavery of my addiction. Working my program has given me my life back. I look back at when I was still acting out, and I can't believe how much my higher power has done for me to bring me to today.

I'll get my 5 year token in my meeting tonight.

Peace,
jim

Jim, that's 1825 "one day at a time"s, and one hell of an achievement. Way to go!

I'm late to the party, but the sentiment is the same.

Congratulations on living well. I wish you continued success!

Jim, if it were bowling.. and doing it one frame (per day) at a time... that would be 1825 strikes in a row! I hope you and your kids will fully appreciate the magnitude of this accomplishment. Wonderful work, Jim!!!
