I went to get my taxes done and had a rough time sitting across the desk from the tax man. I felt like I was going to have a panic attack and couldn't look him in the eyes for very long. I feel like everyone knows my flaws and my inferiority and can tell I'm mental. Hate it! Why am I such a cowardly man?
Mike
Hate it. Damn it.

Hi Mike,

You're not a cowardly man. You just suffer from anxiety. You didn't choose to have anxiety. I consider it a victory for you to have made it through the session while maintaining your outward composure. The tax man can't see what goes on inside you. You are very hard on yourself. Everyone has flaws, BPD or not. Everyone feels inferior sometimes, BPD or not. And you're not mental. You're a human being who suffers from BPD. Congratulate yourself for a successful trip to get your taxes done. It was very hard for you to do and you placed many judgements on yourself but you did it! I'm proud of you!

Mike,

You are far from a cowardly man. Simply because you couldn't look at him doesn't say that at all. Some people feel uncomfortable around others for any or no reason at all. Don't reject yourself like that!

Mike... I often can't look people in the eye, I'm afraid if "the eyes are the window to the soul" they will see I have no soul. When I'm in that mood I think I'm mental too, at least being a woman I don't have the same standards to live up to as you do being a man.
