I start a new job on Monday and by all accounts I should be heading down anxiety lane. I always freak out before I start a new job because I think I'm probably not good enough and I'm going to fail. My husband points out that I have yet to truly fail at something I've worked at. This time around, I understand that. They hired me because of my skills and what I can do to enhance the company. They would not have hired me and they would not waste six weeks of training if they didn't think I was competent. It was great! I untwisted my thoughts before they could even get twisted!

Kudos, babe!

How do you plan to remind yourself of these things once you get into training tomorrow? Or once you hit the floor after the six weeks of "training protection" is done?

I think the training will help with maintaining the level of confidence. I think a little anxiety when I hit the floor the first time is normal. I just need to remind myself that I know what to do, I'm smart enough to figure it out if I don't know what to do, and I'm not ashamed to ask for help. I think those things will help to keep the anxiety at a manageable level.
