These are a few of my favorite things....

  • hugs
  • petting the cat
  • taking the dog to the park
  • playing chess
  • freshly brushed teeth
  • the last seconds of a shower
  • freshly dried warm socks
  • a clean room
  • sleeping on the couch
  • sitting by a campfire and watching the flames
  • skinny dipping
  • reading a good book
  • finishing a painting
  • eating a meal I cooked
  • baking cookies
  • brown paper bags tied up with string.....

Feel free to add your own!

hmmm... a few of my favourite things:
- sleeping in on a cold rainy morning and not having to go to work!
- a warm cup of milk
- hugs
- a shoulder to lean on as i cry
- my nice, cold bed and warm blanket
- a public holiday and not having to work
- going on this site, and finding a reply to my post
- food, yummy food
- a pair of listening ears from a friend
- scenery, nice soothing calming scenery

My favorites:
A smile and a greeting from others I meet in the hall at work
My favorite plush fleece blanket tucked in around me and pulled up to my chin
My soft fuzzy slippers on a cold night
My dog, Ozzie's, head resting on my thigh and his soft brown eyes staring into mine when he knows I've had a hard day
The ticker across the bottom of the TV that says school is closed due to snow and I have a day off from work!
A cheer of joy and excitement from one of my students when I enter the room and tell them that it's their turn to go with me
The taste of anything salty on the tip of my tongue

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things...

Staying in on a rainy day
    Laughing until I cry
People who dare to make a fool out of themselves
    Unconditional friendship
    People who never give up
Ice cold water from the tap
    Buttered popcorn
Making a joke that people laugh at
Laying under the stars with someone special
Doing something for the first time and "succeeding"
    Leather baseball jackets on men
    Summer
    Spontaneous fun
    Bicycle rides
Knowing I can press snooze and actually snooze
    Mangos
    Good hairdays
An unexpected smile or compliment from a stranger
    Hugs
    Baking. And then eating.
Or, baking and eating the batch.
    Discovering new things

That's just a few of them. But it was actually pretty refreshing to write them down...

Spending time with the people I love.
hugs ofc
that feeling when you wake up in the morning holding someone you love and know that you don't have to get up and nothing would tear you from that moment
realizing that there is hope no matter how bleak things may have seemed
playful people
being shown i'm loved and actually feeling like it's true
mild weather, overcast skies, and a slight breeze
dance dance revolution (that's right, i rock it)
cuddling up on the couch with someone and watching a movie
my ex-wife's cooking =P
the day i realized that even though i was suicidal that i wanted to live, that doctor changed my life.

Thank you for this thread. It has helped me remember just how many good things I have in my life, and no matter how much pain I feel at times I will always have these things.
