I am a mom of a 10-year old that has bpd. We have knocked ourselves out, over most of my baby's life, to work to improve our lives together and figure things out. I hope to learn from your experiences and to apply the homework in a manner consistent with my child's age. Thank you for being there.

ronaki,

welcome. I'm surprised that your child has received such a diagnosis at such a young age. Of course, I'm no longer up on the latest info about bpd. I know that I had emotional problems at a very early age, and wish that something could have been done then. At least you know that he needs help and you can proceed with that. I certainly wish you well.

Thanks, Dagwood. The buzz words with 21st century children are ADD and ADHD. These labels do not fit our child, though. After doing our own research, we found a psych. who introduced this term into our vocab. Sadly, it's the best fit to describe the behaviors we have had a rough time understanding, all these years. We've been doing all the right stuff (they say), but to no avail. We'll keep on supporting her, as we learn more about BPD. You are brave and smart to be out here. Thanks for the kind words.

ronaki,

You're most welcome.

It's not an easy road to recovery for most people...but it can certainly can be achieved. Hang in.
