Hi I'm new here and really wanting some support from others who have BPD. I'm a recovering addict and I find that people in my 12 step programme don't really understand my borderline, has anyone else had the experience that borderline is considered addiction?
I don't know if I've explained myself very well! Just wanted to put it out there and introduce myself.

The title of this book, "The Angry Heart: Overcoming Borderline and Addictive Disorders" tends to summarize it pretty well, I think.

Many people don't understand Borderline when it's explained to them but they usually know it when they see it!

Welcome to BPDR - we're glad you're here.

thanks Ash, I went out and bought the book! and another one. I've lived with borderline for a long time but feel like everyday I'm learning to accept it and find ways to deal with it.

so thanks for your welcome and suggestion.

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been dealing with your borderline? You can PM me if you'd rather.
Wow I'm so glad you replied!
